These could be the reasons why!

Ever just eat a meal and still feel hungry afterwards? This happens to many people in the evenings, which often leads to late night snacking on those unhealthy junk foods. Sometimes your body may have not yet recognized the fact that it is full but there could be a few reasons why this is occurring.

Did you eat breakfast?
It is an old saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day; well turns out there may be some truth to this statement. Often times when people skip breakfast or don’t eat enough for this meal they end up being hungry and craving food throughout the day. Try to get a well-balanced and hearty breakfast with foods that have protein and whole grains to keep you satisfied and your energy levels up for the whole day.

Dehydration
Often times those feelings of hunger are actually your body’s way of telling you to drink more water. If you’re still hungry after you just ate try drinking a glass of water and wait 10-15 minutes to see how you feel.

You skipped on the greens
Spinach, kale, and other leafy greens are a good way to help regulate your appetite. Being high in nutrients such as Vitamin K they help control your body’s blood sugar levels and keep cravings from occurring.

You’re just bored
This happens to many people and often times they don’t even realize it. If you have a well-balanced and healthy meal filled with the proper nutrients, more than likely your body will be satisfied. But, sometimes we are looking for something to do while were just sitting there watching TV or to distract ourselves so we instantly think of food. A good way to prevent this is to be mindful. Ask yourself on a scale of 1-5 how hungry are you really? Another good option is to keep yourself busy. Make it a routine to go for a short walk after dinner, doing a household choir, or reading a book.
